No stability without justice, no justice without a state, and no state without a living economy. Former detainee in the Red Saydnaya
Our unity is our strength, and our diversity is a richness for us, not a cause of division. Together we build the state of justice and dignity, and the secure Syria that has room for all its people. We have no future except through right, and no victory except through unity of ranks. And there is no escaping patience and serious work to recover our identity and our values, in which we take pride and honour
Vision for Syria
The Syria of the human being, in which the rights of every detainee and every missing person are safeguarded, in which harm is redressed, and in which the law is above everyone without exception. b. The Syria of the state, not of persons: a state of strong institutions, a just constitution, an independent judiciary, and an army and security force to protect the homeland rather than to subjugate its people, and a genuine share for all Syrians. c. The Syria of life and of opportunities: work for the young, support for knowledge and education, and the opening of the doors of a safe and dignified return for all Syrians. d. The Syria of values and identity: preserving its religion and its morals, respecting its diversity, and joining authenticity with openness, without extremism and without exclusion. e. Syria a sovereign state, balanced in its relations, effective regionally, neither an arena of conflict nor a card in the hands of others.
Experience
Founding member of a number of groupings and civil-society organisations; free trade; preaching and social reform
Priority issues
a. Justice and human dignity: the file of the detainees and the missing, and accountability in a manner that ensures there is no impunity; redress and the restoration of standing for the victims. b. The economy and living conditions: improving the standard of living, controlling prices, securing job opportunities, rescuing the currency, setting the wheel of the economy turning. c. Building the state and stability: a state of law and institutions, real security, and basic services (electricity, water, health, education). A just administration that guarantees participation, preserves the unity of the country and prevents chaos.
